Report: Vieira expected to leave 'Today'

NEW YORK, Apr 5 (UPI) -- Meredith Vieira is strongly considering leaving "Today" when her contract with the speech show in New York expires in September, The tone Reporter said.

Vieira, 57, quit her moderator place on "The View" and signed on as co-anchor of "Today" with Matt Lauer nearly five eld ago.

She replaced Katie Couric, who mitt "Today" after 15 eld to anchor the "CBS Evening News."

The entertainment industry trade newspaper quoted unnamed sources as saying Vieira wants to yield her underway position to pay more time with her husband, Richard Cohen, who has long been afflicted with multiple sclerosis.

"There is going to be an opening; she's done," digit insider told The tone Reporter about Vieira's instruction for the future.
