Shields joins B'way cast of 'Addams'

NEW YORK, Apr 1 (UPI) -- Brooke Shields has signed on to change Bebe Neuwirth as macabre woman Morticia Addams in the Broadway musical "The Addams Family."

The tone Reporter said Thursday Neuwirth plans to yield the exhibit this summer after 15 months.

Nathan Lane, who originated the persona of Morticia's husband, Gomez, in the exhibit terminal year, mitt in mid-March.

Roger Rees, who like Neuwirth erst co-starred on TV's "Cheers," took over the persona of Gomez when Lane left.

Shields's Broadway credits include "Chicago," "Cabaret," "Grease" and "Wonderful Town."
