With apologies to Atticus Ross: we know you won the "Best Score" accolade as well. We just couldn't sound your name into the headline, as well, and our fanboyishness for every things Nine Inch Nails-related could not be denied. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, up against stiff rivalry in the "Best Score" category, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross' instantly iconic reason for The Social Network managed to intend the accolade this evening. We've got whatever thoughts on this below, my upgrade Examiner readers...
About 16 eld ago, Trent Reznor was live, onstage at Woodstock '94, awninged in mod, shrieking at a dance incurvature full of neo-hippies, and alarming an whole commonwealth of parents. Fast-forward to this evening, and the once-creepy Nine Inch Nails frontman looked tan, fit, and primed when he took the initiate to accept his accolade for "Best Score" at this evening's Academy Awards ceremony. For Nine Inch Nails fans, this was a true victory.
Reznor's worked in flick before, but never to the extent that he worked on Fincher's The Social Network: Back in the late 90's, Reznor worked on the soundtracks for both Natural Born Killers and David Lynch's Lost Highway. There were rumors that Reznor would hit worked on Fincher's proposed adaptation of Chuck Palahniuk's Survivor, but 9/11 drove a stake finished the heart of that flick long before it ever reached the photography stage. There were rumors the digit would impact together on a Fight Club musical (yes, on Broadway), but for the instance being, every rumors are ease rumors.
Here's what Reznor had to say most the intend to reporters backstage:
â[Inception] composer, Hans Zimmer, who Iâve been battling at awards shows every year, told me, âIn a lot of ways, I wish you intend because itâs helped unstoppered up the field a taste for texture of what flick scores can be,â â Reznor told reporters backstage. âI am truly stupid by this. David [Fincher] bugged us to do it. Iâm rattling pleased we did. Itâs been the prizewinning experience Iâve ever had from move to finish.â
Reznor didn't do it alone, either: his frequent traitor Atticus doc merited the honor just as much as Reznor (side note: if you're a follower of The Social Network or Reznor's score, we propose that you watch the several primary featurettes on the Social Network Blu-ray for more on how that awesome reason was created). Of the win, doc had this to say:
âThis farewell I thought, âWow, this is a reality.â Iâve become in with no expectations. Itâs been incredible.â
Congrats to both, and congrats to The Social Network for every its some wins this evening.
