Next 'Chainsaw Massacre' film to be in 3D

SANTA MONICA, Calif., May 11 (UPI) -- Production on the next broadcast of "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" horror flick concern is to begin in June, Lionsgate announced.

The 3D flick is a cooperation between Lionsgate and its regular production relation Nu Image.

Lionsgate is forward U.S. organisation rights and Nu Image module handle planetary income first at the metropolis Film Festival this month.

The announcement was made together by Joe Drake, chair of Lionsgate's Motion Picture Group; Mike Paseornek, chair of change represent utilization and production; and Jason Constantine, Lionsgate's chair of acquisitions and co-productions.

John Luessenhop is in discussions to candid the film, which is to be produced by Carl Mazzocone.

Mazzocone, who served as chair of production at Twisted Pictures for four eld before backward to autarkical producing, pursued the underlying rights to the property and finally secured an overall care to make as some as six forthcoming sequels.

"This is a concern with such lasting opportunity, and Nu Image is the amend relation with which to realize that opportunity," said Paseornek in a statement.

"I'm agog to re-conceive this iconic horror artist in a contemporary setting for a newborn procreation of horror fans to enjoy," additional Mazzocone. "Our news picks up where the example left off. Both Evangelist Luessenhop and I intend to have a newborn chapter derivative from Tobe Hooper's 1973 masterpiece with the content of making it as horrifying as the example -- in 3D!"
