McGill University to honor Shatner

MONTREAL, May 7 (UPI) -- Canada's McGill University says it plans to present Montreal-born person William Shatner with an honorary degree next month.

Shatner, 80, is best known for his impact in the "Star Trek" franchise, as substantially as the TV shows "T.J. Hooker," "Boston Legal" and "$#*! My Dad Says."

The [Montreal] Gazette said the person graduated from McGill in 1952 with a commerce degree.

He is to be presented with an honorary degree at the university's graduation ceremonies for the power of arts June 2, the newspaper said.
