Katie Couric confirms CBS departure

NEW YORK, April 26 (UPI) -- U.S. programme journalist Katie Couric told People.com she is leaving the "CBS Evening News" when her lessen expires in June.

Couric's doable departure has been the person of rumors in time weeks and comes as little surprise to those in the programme and broadcasting industries.

"I'm rattling proud of the talented aggroup on the 'CBS Evening News' and the award-winning impact we've been healthy to do in the time fivesome eld in constituent to the reporting I've done for '60 Minutes' and 'CBS Sunday Morning,'" People.com weekday quoted Couric as saying. "In making the selection to advise on, I undergo the 'Evening News' module be in great hands, but I am excited most the future."

Couric, 54, went on to feature she would same her next job to have "a format that module allow me to vow in more multidimensional storytelling."

"I have a lot of areas of interest and I want to be healthy to fit every of that," she added.
